Epanomi Shipwreck, Thessaloniki , Drone Video

Epanomi is located a short distance from the city of Thessaloniki, just 30 kilometres away.

It is a well-known area for both its beaches and its other amenities (tavernas, cafes, rooms, etc.).

Epanomi is the first region before Halkidiki, offering clean coasts and crystal-clear waters.

In the area, you will find several beaches and beach bars, but the beach near Epanomi's "cape" stands out.

There, you will find two points of interest.

One is the two beaches, which are essentially separated by the natural cape formed by the area. When one shore is wavy, the sea on the other shore is calm. This gives swimmers the option to enjoy their swim in calm and safe waters every day.

The second point of interest near the cape is the "Shipwreck" beach. It is a real shipwreck that occurred around 1970 and still remains on the seabed of the beach, very close to the shore!

The ship that was wrecked was carrying tons of soil with the aim of landfilling the rare and beautiful wetland of Epanomi for tourist development.

However, on Saint Anthony's Day in 1970, the ship sank and was abandoned there by the company.

Since then, it has remained in the waters and is considered a "tourist attraction."

Access to the beaches of Epanomi

You can visit the beaches of Epanomi either via Georgikis Scholis Street (towards Peraia) or from the Thessaloniki – Moudania National Road, by taking the exit for Mesimeri and following the respective signs.

From the city centre, it will take you around 45 minutes to reach the crystal-clear waters of Epanomi!

Epanomi beach and the entire area are particularly organised and well-kept, with dozens of establishments ready to serve you!
