Destinations for February trips

February is usually the month of Carnival and perhaps the coldest month.

Tourist traffic is generally low (except for Carnival weekend), so you’ll be able to find quite a few cheap prices for both hotels and the flights you'll need for your destination!

Patras, along with Xanthi, is the queen of Carnival! Every year, more than 40,000 people participate in the festive events, and the Carnival parade is a unique spectacle!

Xanthi

As we mentioned above, Xanthi is another popular destination for Carnival. Here, the parade culminates with the burning of the 'Tzar' – a tradition that has lasted for many years.

Galaxidi

Another nearby destination to Athens, where you can enjoy Carnival, is Galaxidi.

It is located approximately 120 km (1 hour) away from Athens, and traditions such as the flour war, held every Clean Monday, are still very much alive!

The weather has started to warm up, especially in Southern Greece, while tourists haven’t yet begun to make an appearance!
