3 beaches in Halkidiki you absolutely must visit!

Halkidiki is an earthly paradise for Northern Greece and beyond.

It is located south of Thessaloniki and access is by car.

Halkidiki is divided into 3 'legs' – The first (Kassandra), the 2^nd (Sithonia) and the third, which includes Mount Athos, where access is forbidden to women.

Both the first and second 'legs' feature beautiful beaches waiting for you to explore them.

In this guide, you will discover 3 unique beaches located on the 2^nd 'leg' and primarily consist of small coves!

 

Rodia Beach – Vourvourou

Rodia Beach, with its eponymous beach bar, is located in Northeastern Sithonia, about 15 minutes past Vourvourou.

It is a quiet cove that requires about a 6-minute drive down a dirt road.

The dirt road is relatively easy with small stones; with a little care, you won't struggle at any point.

If you're coming from the 1^st 'leg' or Nikiti, you'll take the road towards Vourvourou and continue straight until you see the sign for Rodia Beach or Rodia Beach Bar on your left.

On the beach, there's an organised beach bar where you can enjoy coffee, food, and try their signature cocktails.

There is a charge for sun loungers and umbrellas, while the prices for coffee and food are reasonable.

Akti Oneirou Beach

Akti Oneirou is located a few metres further from Rodia. It's a fantastic cove with amazing views of the lush vegetation surrounding it.

At Akti Oneirou, you'll find the Manassu beach bar, which will provide everything you need for your time by the sea: sun loungers with umbrellas, food, snacks, and, of course, drinks.

Here too, there is a charge for the umbrella-sun lounger set, while the prices for other items on the menu are around the average for the area.

To reach Akti Oneirou and the Manassu beach bar, continue from Rodia until you see the blue sign for Manassu beach bar. Then, turn onto the dirt road for approximately 4 km.

Lagonisi Halkidiki

Beyond Lagonisi in Athens, there's also Lagonisi in Halkidiki, and between us, it's even more beautiful!

It's an amazing cove, just after Vourvourou.

Just before Vourvourou and after Ormos Panagias, you'll see a sign on the left for Lagonisi – in 3 minutes, you'll be in the parking area of Lagonisi Beach Resort.

Here, the road is comfortable, and the tarmac extends all the way to the car park – unlike the two beaches mentioned above.
The beach is located in a natural cove with a stunning view of Kalogria islet (not to be confused with Akti Kalogrias).

Kalogria islet is one of dozens of barren islands in Halkidiki. In essence, these are small, uninhabited land masses accessible only by sea.

If you have a watercraft such as a boat, SUP, or pedal boat, you can very easily visit Kalogria islet, just 900 metres from Lagonisi.

Be especially careful during your crossing, as there are often many boats in the open water traversing the area at increased speed.

Here you will find absolute tranquillity and a perfectly calm and clean beach.

As for Lagonisi itself, the sea is crystal clear and the facilities offer everything you'll need, such as food and snacks.

There is a charge depending on the sun lounger's location (10€ for the first row per person, 5€ for the rest), while coffees and food are, of course, extra.

Parking is free, and the charge is paid at the entrance.

Next to Lagonisi, there are many coves you can explore either by swimming or with a pedal boat or SUP, which are available for hire on the beach.

In any case, you should be particularly careful of the dozens of boats circulating in the sea area.

The 3 coves mentioned above (Rodia, Akti Oneirou, and Lagonisi) are among Halkidiki's best and most organised beaches. If you have a means of sea transport, you can explore dozens of untouched coves accessible only by sea.
