To get there, you'll need to go sailing, not by yourself, of course! You'll have the chance to meet new friends and enjoy the beauty of the Cycladic islands.

There are many day trips to Rhenia and Delos, with prices generally costing around 75 euros. The trip usually lasts 6-7 hours.

This long alley is filled with local and luxury shops, as well as cafes and tavernas.

13. See the Church of Panagia Paraportiani

This church is located in the Kastro neighbourhood and is one of the most photographed churches in the entire world.

What makes it so popular is that it's not just one church.

In fact, it's five small churches built almost one on top of the other.

Panagia Paraportiani isn't even the main church, but it acts as a dome for the other five churches.

14. Visit the old harbour

Another area worth strolling through is Mykonos' old harbour. It's characterised by labyrinthine alleys, friendly locals, and family-run shops.

This area was once the island's largest port, but since the newer port opened, this part of the town has been somewhat forgotten.

Now the old harbour is exclusively for fishermen and smaller boats.

15. The Folklore Museum of Mykonos

This is also located in the Kastro area. The Folklore Museum is what you'd expect it to be.

A tribute to the island's history, both old and new. Inside the museum, you'll find traditional and historical pieces from Mykonos' history.

It's quite a large museum and contains everything from photographs to ancient tools.

It's open from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm and from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Admission is by donation.

 

16. Visit Ano Mera village

Ano Mera is one of the oldest villages on the island, well worth some of your time to walk around and explore, enjoying the peace and quiet and seeing the local sights.

Another thing you can do in Ano Mera is visit the five-century-old Monastery of Panagia Tourliani.

It has been recently renovated and boasts impressive design.

It's open daily from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

 

18. Armenistis Lighthouse

A beautiful landmark that everyone loves is the Armenistis Lighthouse. This lighthouse is a tribute to the place's history.

It was built over 100 years ago, in 1891, after a shipwreck in which 11 people lost their lives.

The lighthouse is built on the highest point of the island and offers an amazing view for sunset in the northwestern part of the island, in the Fanari area.
