Flights to Italy

Italy boasts several popular cities, making it a great destination for both winter getaways and summer holidays.

The most popular Italian cities, seeing the highest airport arrivals, are Milan with 3 airports and Rome with 2 airports.

Both Milan and Rome offer connections to all domestic cities in the country with the Italian airline Alitalia, as well as with other carriers such as Ryanair, WizzAir, Volotea, Lufthansa, etc.

During the summer months, Sardinia's airport and the three airports in Sicily are overflowing with people, as they host some of Europe's most popular summer resorts.

Milan Airports

Milan has 3 airports. Milan Malpensa International Airport (MXP), Linate Airport, and Bergamo Airport, which is used by low-cost airlines such as Ryanair and Wizzair and is located just outside Milan, in the eponymous village.

All 3 airports offer transport from and to the city centre, specifically to the Centrale train station.

Once you have decided and booked your trip to Milan, it is advisable to book your bus seat from the airport to Centrale station and back, along with your flight tickets.

We advise this so you aren't unpleasantly surprised upon arrival to find no available seats, forcing you to wait for the next bus, which could be 1-2 hours later!

From Thessaloniki, you will find flights to Bergamo airport via Ryanair, while from Athens, flights are available to Bergamo via Ryanair, to Malpensa via Aegean, and to Linate via Alitalia.

Rome Airports

Rome has 2 airports, and here things are simpler than in Milan.

All major airlines land at the main Fiumicino airport. The airport is 35km away from the historic centre of Rome and is the 6^th busiest airport in Europe by passenger traffic!

There is a railway connection from the airport to Termini station, and the journey takes approximately 30 minutes.

Additionally, Ciampino airport is operational, where low-cost airlines operate their flights and offer cheap flights due to lower fees, taxes, etc. There is a connection from the airport to the central Termini station in the city centre, via dedicated buses. A return ticket costs approximately 10€ with the company Terravision.
