The quickest and most comfortable option is a taxi or ride-hailing services like Uber and Careem. An official taxi from the airport costs around 20-25 JOD, while with apps, the price is usually pre-determined and slightly lower. For getting around the city, yellow taxis are ubiquitous and affordable, as long as you insist on using the meter. Uber and Careem apps work flawlessly and are a reliable alternative, as they provide the cost upfront. Walking is excellent for exploring individual neighbourhoods like Downtown or Jabal Amman, but the steep hills and long distances between areas make exclusive pedestrian travel difficult. The public bus system is complex for tourists and not recommended for a first visit.

Summer (June to August) can be extremely hot, while winter is cold, with significant rain and occasional snow. Accommodation prices vary dramatically.
