Airport Lounge: How to enter and what to expect!

Mango smoothies are tempting. Soft, freshly baked pretzels beckon. Scottish platters, smoked salmon, sausages, bacon, eggs, waffles, crepes, croissants and many more treats.

What is all this? That's simply how a typical day begins in the Lufthansa lounge!

The Lufthansa business class lounge at the airline's base in Frankfurt offers all amenities to travellers who will be waiting between their flights or arriving early for their own flight. Additionally, there are available rooms for sleeping, bathrooms (with slippers and bathrobes), private cabins, bars throughout the lounge, and even a cigar lounge!

 

First Class Terminal

The Lufthansa terminal is an amazing space. Those lucky enough to experience it are surprised by the luxury they encounter. Upon your arrival, an airline valet will take your car. A personal assistant checks you in and escorts you to airport security. From there, you pass through security and immediately find yourself in the first class lounge!

It should be noted that not all lounges are as luxurious as Lufthansa's. And of course, access is only granted to those who have booked airline tickets in first class or business class.

 

But what exactly are airline lounges?

Airline lounges are distinct and have nothing to do with airport waiting areas. They are modern spaces with all the luxurious amenities and offer high-level services to their customers. From spas and massages to sleeping rooms.

Most airlines share their lounges, especially if they belong to a group. For example, the Star Alliance group of airlines, with more than 30 member airlines, shares the lounges each airline has at airports worldwide. Aegean is also a member of this group! So, if you book Aegean airline tickets in business or first class, you should know that you are entitled to access and stay in the business lounge!

There are airports that have their own themed lounges to offer as many amenities as possible to travellers. For example, in the Dallas airport lounge, there is a themed lounge that continuously plays football matches!

 

Hotel Lounges

Some hotels, especially large chains, have recently opened lounges at airports. They thus provide extra services to their customers and facilitate their stay at the airport. They provide internet access, assist with check-in, and also recommend bookings for restaurants and tourist resorts in the area!

Amenities in Lounges

In some lounges, spa treatments, massage sessions, relaxing programmes, and more are available. In simpler lounges, such as those at airports, you will find snacks, magazines, coffee, and basic entertainment and relaxation services. You can also charge your electronic devices and access the internet!

 

How to gain access to lounges

If you have first-class or business class airline tickets, then your boarding pass will be your ticket to the luxurious lounge.

Another way is if you use credit cards. Several providers, for a subscription fee, give you free access to lounges worldwide. This is of course beneficial if you travel frequently!

Finally, you can get an airline's mileage card, so you accumulate miles when you travel and can also enter the alliance's lounges!
